The nursery school group at Wee Friends Child Care Center offers your child a rich environment that mixes older children with younger children. The older students have the opportunity to mentor their younger friends, and everyone benefits from the interaction. Older students learn responsibilities, which instills them with pride and fosters a healthy self-concept. Younger students learn important skills.
Our nursery school students are presented with an array of materials and teaching styles that foster adaptive, creative, flexible thinking and playing. Circle time is at the heart of this growth. Your child will enjoy sharing ideas and participating in activities that promote critical thinking and concepts. Circle time also includes music, movement, marching band, show and tell, and parachute play. Children look forward to it!
Your child will also enjoy the classroom part of the day. As a member of a group, your child will learn to work cooperatively through a wide range of educational activities.
- Learning the letters of the alphabet
- Learning counting and numbers
- Building fine motor skills by cutting, coloring, and tracing
Another part of your child's day includes interactive story time. Our program includes flannel boards and group discussions that turn stories into cooperative activities. Books are available throughout the day, so your child will learn how to properly utilize reading materials and develop a love of reading.
We create an environment of limits and expectations in which your child learns self-discipline. Independence is encouraged, individuality is respected, and politeness and kindness are expected. Children learn to promote respect for others.
